Learning Communities

About the learning community This learning community will support micro social enterprises in Western Australia by helping them build the knowledge, connections, and confidence they need to succeed. The group will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by early-stage and small-scale social enterprises, particularly those: Led by or working with marginalised communities.

Programs

WASEC provides a number of programs for social enterprises throughout Western Australia to connect, learn, network and grow. Social Impact Incubator This highly subsidised 6 month incubator has been created to support early-stage social enterprises in Western Australia. The incubator will provide tools, mentors, networks, investment pathways and support to help turn bold ideas into a sustainable business.

Overview The WA Social Enterprise Council (WASEC) is pleased to launch our inaugural Social Impact Incubator 2025 in line with our focus to build a thriving social enterprise sector in Western Australia. This highly subsidised 6 month incubator has been created in collaboration with the local social enterprise community to support early-stage Western Australian based social enterprises.

Workforce Australia webinar: Leveraging support, training and funding for social enterprise employers

On 9 October 2024, WASEC hosted a webinar with Workforce Australia to explore how WA social enterprises can address skills shortages by leveraging free training, funding, and support. The Local Jobs Program focuses on helping long-term unemployed individuals re-enter the workforce, and there is big overlap between this group and social enterprise employees.

Building a better economy: prioritising impact over profit

The inaugural Impact Economy Forum, held at Kings Park, Perth, welcomed a diverse group of 200 attendees ranging from social entrepreneurs, government officials, and industry experts to passionate community leaders and investors. This groundbreaking gathering was not just about discussions; it was a convergence of synergy, innovation, and a shared vision for a better tomorrow.
